Self Efficacy of Student in Agriculture Areas

Abstract

The form of students mathematical self-efficacy can be shown through the process of learning mathematics in some form of the instrument given to the students. Student self-efficacy contributes to the development of students mathematics skills, especially in students at secondary school level. More than that, with environmental factors that affect the level of confidence of students of his own ability. An environment with agricultural potential has a direct and indirect impact on student self-efficacy. This study aims to analyze students self-efficacy in the region with an agriculture-based environment and examine in depth the indicators on self-efficacy affecting students mathematics skills. The method used in this study is the analytical observation where students are given the instrument in the form of self-efficacy questionnaire consisting of several indicators, namely 1) Be able to solve problems encountered; 2) Confident of his success; 3) have a courage to face obstacles; 4) Have a courage to take risks; 5) Recognizing the advantages and disadvantages of him/herself; 6) Be able to interact with others; 7) Tough and not easily give up. The results of this study with environmental factors based on agricultural potential indicate that each indicator of self-efficacy affects students math skills. The result of this research shown that there is impact of students environment especially in agriculture area towards their self-efficacy related their mathematics ability
