Hadith Learning through Android-based Hadith Encyclopedia Application Tedi Supriyadi and J.Julia

Abstract
For Muslims, hadith is the second source of teaching after Quran. As technology develops, hadith learning can be done through Android-based application. This study aims at analyzing the results of hadith learning using Android-based hadith encyclopedia application. It employed survey administered to 100 college students. They collected and examined hadith on community using Ensiklopedi Hadits app. This study discovered that: 1) students were able to mention the sanad (chain) and narrator of hadith along with the name of the book and the number of hadith; 2) students were able to mention the quality of hadith, either shahih (strong) or dhaif (weak), to distinguish between hadith that could and could not be practiced; and 3) the search engine feature allowed students to find hadith by just typing a certain word. To conclude, the hadith learning using Ensiklopedi Hadits app made its learning effective and efficient.
