DESCRIPTION INTERMEDIATE CONCEPTION STUDENTS THIRD YEAR PHYSICS EDUCATION ON ELECTROMAGNETIC INDUCTION AND WAVE CONCEPT Physic Education, Jambi University, Jambi, Indonesia, *rendy86.upi[at]gmail.com Abstract Some results on the conceptual change, indicated a discriminate between alternative and scientific conceptions. This could be represented as a medium conceptions, called the intermediate conceptions This study aims to explore, reveal, perform categorization and describe the students intermediate conception on electromagnetic induction and wave concepts. The method used in this study was qualitative descriptive. The subjects of this research were 26 third-year physic education students at Jambi University. Data collection have been done by essay test and interview. Instruments essay test referred and adaptation to test models of Electromagnetism Concept Inventory (EMCI), those include sub-concepts of Electromagnetic induction and Electromagnetic waves. The analyzed data shows that 62 % of the students are on Lateral Intermediate Conception category in electromagnetic induction. While in electromagnetic wave concept, shows that 75 of the students are on Lateral Intermediate Conception. Other results showed that the students have difficulty in describing, explaining, interpreting qualitatively about electromagnetic induction and wave concepts Keywords: Intermediate Conception, Third Year Students, Electromagnetic Induction and Electromagnetic Wave Topic: Physics Education |
