Abstract

One of the main demands in the current Industrial Revolution 4.0 era is problem-solving skills that built through experience-based learning. Learning models that are considered to provide a comprehensive experience is laboratory-based learning. Research in materials physics field requires learning like this, because the topics in this course continue to evolve follow industry trends. This paper proposed the design of laboratory-based teaching and learning for materials physics course. We use ADDIE approach to conduct teaching materials based on laboratory research activities, with stages: analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The final product shows a combination of material physics research in the experimental and simulation laboratory.

Keywords: laboratory-based learning, materials physics course
