E-Learning of Basic Physics using Wordpress: Adaptation of New Students Learning Physics Courses in Higher Education

Abstract

Learning in high education must develop students ability in high-order thinking skill, training students skills in collaborating and communicating. In accordance with 21st century learning model that put forward Creative Thinking, Critical Thinking, Collaboration and Communication. This study aims to show the pattern of e-learning that can help new students in adapting in learning physics in high education. Our research use the research and development methodology in education adopted from Dick & Careys strategy. The development and testing of the product conducted in the physics education program of Universitas Negeri Jakarta. E-learning model has been produced for basic physics courses that are able to assist new students in adapting to the pattern of learning in universities. It is use the multiple-representations in contextual science. The pattern of learning is shown by these step: relating, experiencing, applying, transferring, and cooperating. Students are trained to think critically and creatively, be able to collaborate with colleagues and communicate their analytical results in written and oral forums.
