Students learning obstacle in modeling the topic of quadratic equations Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract The inability of students to understand problems and translate sentences from word problem to mathematical problem leads researchers to find out the cause of the problem. Ten-word problem were given to sixty students to complete. Class discussion is done afterwards to find out the problem of students in solving the problem. The results of the analysis show that the problem with the type of context camouflage is the main cause of students not understanding the problem so that students cannot model correctly.
