Movable book: Enjoying science concept understanding Graduate Elementary Education Program, Yogyakarta State University Abstract Media is an important part of learning. Through media, students can understand a material concept more easily. Media development becomes one of teachers challenges in the implementation of learning in Elementary School. Development learning media should make learning more interesting, active, and certainly easier for students to understand the subject matter. In the middle of attack technology-based media that require special skills in manufacturing and expensive cost, there is a "magic" media that is cheap and easier to create. This study discusses the development of movable book media to improve understanding of science concept grade 4 students of elementary school in Banyumas, Central Java Province, Indonesia. Movable book is a "like" pop up book, but it has moving or dynamic parts. Movable book is in form of two-dimensional or three-dimensional, furthermore it has moveable mechanism, fold, rotation, and flutter. This "magical" movable book is filled with science materials, making it an effective medium for easier understanding of student science concepts. Result of this study that students more enthusiastic in following the learning and understanding of students science concepts increased. Therefore, this movable book media can be selected by teachers as one of the learning media that is easy to create and effective in improving learning.
