Mathematical Communication Skills and Student Attitudes with Combined Learning Model

Abstract

This study aims to see how the learning of mathematics in applied with the combination learning model to improve students mathematical communication skills. Also to analyze the influence of combination learning model to mathematical communication ability with student attitude factor. This study is in the form of quasi experiments involving one school in an area with good agricultural potential. The indicators of mathematical communication ability used in this research are 1) To state the mathematical situation or everyday events into the mathematical model and solve it; 2) Declaring mathematical models (images, algebraic expressions) into plain language (composing stories); 3) Provide an explanation of mathematical models and / or patterns. The results of this study indicate that learning mathematics through combination learning model can improve the ability of mathematical communication with student attitude factor.
