Surala Ninja: A Mathematics e-Learning Based on Learning Management System as an Alternative Learning in Primary School Mathematics

Abstract

As information technology increases, e-learning based on Learning Management System (LMS) has contributed a lot to the education system. LMS based e-learning components includes: learning management, student management, evaluation management, online practice, online material content and online assessment. Surala Ninja is a mathematics e-learning specially made for elementary students. This paper will examine Surala Ninja and its characteristics and advantages; Content in Surala Ninja and its relevance with the 2013 school curriculum; Portrait of Implementation of Surala Ninja; as well as the initial influence of Surala Ninja on students mathematical mindset. The result shows that Surala Ninja meets the LMS criteria. Surala Ninjas content is in mutual accord mainly with the low-grade 2013 school curriculum and it contains a lot of strengthening and deepening of materials so that the e-learning has positive impact on mathematical thinking and can be considered as an alternative for individual learning.
