APPLICATION OF PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL WITH SCIENCE WRITING HEURISTIC APPROACH TO IMPROVE STUDENTS CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS ON SIMPLE MECHINE CONCEPT Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Abstract This study is aimed to improve students critical thinking skills through implementation problem based learning model with science writing heuristic approach. This research uses quasi-experimental and descriptive methods. Instruments that are used critical thinking skills test. The research subject is the eighth class students from junior high school and a sample of 32 people randomly selected from three classes. The results showed the medium category in normalized gains scale improvement of students critical thinking skills on simple mechine concept after the implementation of problem based learning model with science writing heuristic approach. In conclusion, the problem based learning model with science writing heuristic approach was increase the students critical thinking skills.
